More than ten years ago, Lele made its first pair of leggings.

Back then, I was only a small part of the story.

And couldn't have known how much life would happen in the years that followed, where Lele would go, or how deeply this brand would become woven into my own life.

And with every new season, I found myself noticing the wahine around me differently.

The mama who keeps showing up when no one is watching.

The friend who makes room for you even when her own plate is full.

The daughter carrying her ‘ohana, her faith, her heartbreak, her kuleana—and somehow still finds a way to lift someone else.

I see you.

I see the strength it takes to keep loving after life has changed you. 

To keep choosing grace. 

To find your footing in a season you never expected to be standing in.

Maybe I see them differently now because I’m finding my own way, too.

Stepping into a new decade of my life, I understand things differently than I did when I was younger.

I know now that health really is wealth.

That time and energy may be two of the most valuable things we're ever given.

That the people we love are everything.

I am learning to wake up grateful.

To care for the body that has carried me through every version of myself.

To protect my energy without apologizing for it.

And at the end of the day, to give myself a little more grace.

Because so many of us are our own worst critic.

We offer compassion to the people we love and then withhold it from ourselves.

We count everything we didn’t accomplish and forget how much we carried just to make it through the day.

I am learning that strength does not always mean carrying everything without breaking.

And taking care of myself does not take anything away from the people I love.

Sometimes strength is putting something down.

Sometimes it’s asking for help.

Sometimes it’s choosing your health, protecting your peace, trusting your faith, or giving yourself permission to begin again.

That is what Lele Movement means to me.

Yes, the way we move our bodies.

But even more, the way life moves through us.

Because it isn’t always about going farther or faster.

Sometimes the greatest movement happens when no one else can see it.

In the things we finally let go of.

In the boundaries we learn to make.

In the way we begin caring for ourselves.

In the courage to start again.

In the decision to meet ourselves with the same kindness we have spent a lifetime giving everyone else.
